See Her

'I imagined what it was like to be famous…. then I unimagined it'

See Her is a performance that questions and unpicks
the notions of identity, fame and anonymity through
the image of pop star Sia.Throughout the performance the eight performers engage in an elaborate game of hide and seek.
Hiding their identities behind white cardboard boxes.
It becomes an elaborate game of disguising and manipulating identity and image.
This game reveals our societies fascination with celebrity and the conflicts and contradictions that arise from this existence.
We all want to see her and we all to know her.

See Her is a performance that I devised  created and performed with Flora and The Machine. The company comprised of eight other theatre makers from my degree programme at university last year. We made 'See Her' for our final project at university. I acted as the text editor and dramaturg for the project. You can read about my experience of making this piece  by reading my blog.
